The Florida Sterling Council - Board of Directors wishes to encourage manufacturers in the State of Florida to attend the 17th Annual Sterling Conference this year.

 Volunteer member of the Board, are offering discounted registration at $725 per person for the 3-day conference. The annual conference is scheduled for May 27-29, 2009 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando.

The conference generally draws about 1,000 participants interested in networking and learning about management best practices from companies across all sectors and industries, and across the Nation. It\'s a one-stop source for education, information, and inspiration.

With more than 50 workshops appropriate for individuals at every level in a manufacturing company, the conference offers sector-specific sessions that target six Sterling Criteria tracks. In 2008, of the more than 1,000 participants at the conference, 97% were completely satisfied with all aspects of the Conference.

The Florida Sterling Council is a not-for-profit, private/public partnership that operates out of the Governor\'s office in Tallahassee. The organization is comprised of seven full time state-funded staff and a corps of about 300 volunteers.

The Mission of the Council is to reinforce Florida\'s competitive edge and quality of life through promotion, assessment, and recognition of performance excellence.

The Sterling Council sponsors and administers assessment and award processes to promote high performance among all organizations in Florida. The assessment criteria and process are modeled directly on the Malcolm Baldrige National program.
