Tallahassee Community College - February 5, 2008Tallahassee Community College Offers OSHA HAZWOPER Training
Tallahassee Community College Economic and Workforce Development is proud to announce OSHA HAZWOPER Training – 40 Hour Training Course in Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response. The HAZWOPER course will be held on the TCC main campus in Tallahassee on Monday – Friday, 31 March - 4 April 2008. The cost for the five-day program is $750.00 per person. The course is taught in partnership with the University of South Florida by an OSHA certified instructor. The class size limit is 20. CEUs: 4.0
The objectives of the HAZWOPER course include:
1. Develop a level of competency that would allow employees to recognize unsafe conditions at an uncontrolled hazardous waste sites
2. Develop the necessary tools to evaluate site conditions
3. Develop decision matrix for establishment of safe work atmosphere through engineering controls, administrative controls, and /or personnel protective equipment (PPE)
4. Discuss emergency response to hazmat incidents to determine whether or not response can be taken in a safe matter.
There are area industries requesting this course to be taught locally and to do so we must have a minimum of 10 students to run this course.
